Description

The project makes obtaining all 251 Pokemon and Mystery Gift decorations and items possible without changing mechanics, story, difficulty, sprites, dialogue, music, or anything else. It also makes obtaining the rare held-items which were previously only obtained through the time capsule, available.

Most of the glitches found in Pokemon Crystal have also been fixed (with a few carefully considered exceptions). The project also refused to introduce new or modern evolution methods, Pokemon, items, attacks, etc…

Features

  • Living-dex Possible
  • Players can now train and evolve their “trade-to-evolve” Pokemon with the help of a new “trade-helper” NPC! (v3.0+)
  • Celebi can be obtained via the fully functioning GS Ball Event.
  • Missing Legendary Pokémon are waiting to be battled.
  • Missing Pokémon who’ve been re-introduced into the wild take their cues from Gold, Silver, Yellow, Red, Blue, and Green
  • Pokémon new to the wild have had considerable thought put into rarity, environment, and balancing
  • All Gen-2 TMs become infinitely accessible through various shops or NPC, etc.
  • All Gen-1 “Old TM Moves” are available through new move-tutors.
  • All evolution-dependent items are infinitely accessible through various methods.
  • Ho-oh and Lugia both now have their signature attacks which were only available in Gold and Silver.
  • An unfinished and unused mini-game has been restored and is now playable!
  • A built-in RTC-reset feature can be accessed at the title-screen by pressing “B + Down” for players who use emulators which do not accurately keep track of time when the game is not being played.
  • One of every base-stage Pokémon which can be found in the wild has been added to at least one trainer battle. By battling everyone, players will set valuable “seen” flags in the Pokédex to help find them in the wild.
  • Four unique event Pokémon have been added to replicate the special Pokémon which were originally obtained via Pokémon Stadium 1 & 2.
  • An NPC can help players remember where trades are located and what is on offer (see image).
  • A number of unused music tracks, sfx, color pallets, sprites and graphics have all found uses with the new content.
  • Many vanilla gameplay glitches have been resolved (see readme for complete details).

Known Bugs

Bugs and Glitches which would create inconsistencies in game-link battles if “fixed” have been left alone. However, most other bugs and glitches from base Crystal have been patched, notably:

  • Glacier Badge now correctly boosts Special Attack and Special Defense as intended
  • Burn, Poison and Paralysis now correctly affect catch rates
  • Dragon Fang (not Dragon Scale) now boosts Dragon-type moves as intended

  • Magikarp are now measured correctly, and are bigger at the Lake of Rage (as intended)
