Description

Pokemon Beyond Blue is romhack of Pokémon Blue that includes various features from each iteration of Kanto, along with unused beta content found in the Gigaleaks. The goal is to include as many beta features as possible, and some new Kanto-related ones, without changing the feel of Generation 1.

Pokémon are only type changed to their modern vanilla counterparts, however regional variants/regional fakes/gimmick forms/paradox forms etc. are NOT included. Moves from later generations are only included if they fill out a new type, or act as a signature move for a Pokémon. Otherwise, no major changes have been made to individual species.

Features

  • Beta versions of the Steel/Dark/Fairy types!
  • Unused Pokémon from beta builds and future generation evolutions, as well as the inclusion of Kanto-exclusive ‘mons from GSC (Houndour/Murkrow/Slugma)
  • Added NPCs and trades to help with version exclusive or once per save Pokémon.
  • Tradeback NPC in Celadon.
  • FRLG Oak’s Aide rewards! (Everstone + Amulet Coin)
  • Move Deleter + Relearner in Fuchsia and Indigo Plateau respectively.
  • References to hoaxes like Bill’s Garden and the Mew under the truck.
  • Tougher Boss trainer learnsets from Yellow version.
  • Gym Leader post-game rematches.
  • Modern Exp. All sharing formula (Still requires 50 Pokémon caught to get)
  • QoL with BW’s reusable Repel system and HMs usable in the overworld.
  • Daycare now has a PC, and there’s a chance your Pokémon will have an Egg! (Living Dex possible in one save file?)
  • Improved Vitamins and purchasable PP Ups!
  • Hyper Training!

Changelog

V1.4.3

  • Fixed a bug where running would disable encounters.
  • Fixed a bug where when using the Bicycle, the running animations would be used instead of the bicycle ones.
  • Sylveon now learns Fairy Wind upon evolution, as it was intended to.

V1.4.2

Additions

  • You can now view a Pokémon’s summary in the PC even while the Party is full.
  • Rare Candies are now renewable, via a Diglett NPC in the Fuchsia City Warden’s House. Respawns after each Elite Four run.
  • Running sprites for both player characters!

Changes

  • Mt. Silver’s tiles have been altered.
  • The Power Plant now uses its unused Spaceworld Tilesets.
  • Beauties in the southern water routes use an unused Female Swimmer trainer class found in the Spaceworld demos.
  • 2 Trades have been altered, the Marcel trade now gives a Ballerine instead of a Mr. Mime, and the Lickitung trade now asks for a Slowpoke rather than a Slowbro.

Fixes

  • Fixed minor graphical issues, like the colon in the playtime display not rendering.

V1.4.1

  • When depositing/withdrawing items in the PC, the game would wrongly assume the item selected was the last one on the visible list. This would cause all sort of glitchy behavior, like being able to deposit more items than you had on hand, causing duplication glitches or loss of items.

Known Bugs

  • The Exp. All doesn’t display the proper amount of EXP spread to the party. This is only a visual bug.
  • When displaying a Pokémon’s HP EV being over 100, it will show tiles rather than the number.
  • Sometimes when evolving, a Pokémon’s HP will overflow, going past their maximum value. I have been unable to replicate this glitch and cannot figure out what’s causing it. Thankfully, it fixes itself upon visiting a Pokémon Center.
