You ready to beat the ever-loving shit out of a turkey? After a long wait (we’re very sorry), Pokémon: Turky Version is live and ready for action. Catch your share of Pokémon and make the Thanksgiving dinner of your dreams! Gobble gobble! In this ROM hack, you play as JOEL, a forgetful Swede who neglected to buy Thanksgiving groceries for him and his dad to have for dinner.
One failed trip to the grocery store later, and you’re convincing the local redneck to give you his prized TURKEY to help you catch Pokémon in order to create the perfect meal. It won’t be easy, though–Pokémon aren’t exactly naturally flavorful, and nearby trainers aren’t going to give you help for free. Get ready to battle your way to the dinner table and prepare the ultimate feast!
The Flavoring System
Once you’ve shown Tom the Turkey to the butcher, he will give you two useful tools: A Flavor Case for storing flavorboosting candies and a Yumometer option in your Menu that allows you to view a Pokémon’s flavor profile. Every dish you can make expects a certain flavor combination to improve the quality of the food. The five flavors you can enhance are Savory, Sweet, Salty, Sour, and Bitter.
By beating trainers, you can obtain Flavor Cubes of varying quality. Check their tags in the Flavor Case to see what they do, and remember that just because two cubes are the same color, it doesn’t mean they have the same flavor-boosting properties! You can re-battle any trainer you want once you’ve beaten them; they will give you the same Flavor Cube every time. - Easter Egg Pokémon: A special, secret Pokémon is rumored to have a chance of appearing in the grass of every single area in the game.
