Iron Emblem ROM

Iron Emblem rom
When focusing on the main objectives, Iron Emblem is about 35 Hours in length. If you're a gamer that strives to see all aspects of the game, you are likely to spend around 45 Hours to obtain 100% completion.

Iron Emblem is a GBA ROM Hack by Relic based on Fire Emblem - The Sacred Stones in English. Iron Emblem is a hack that is designed with the only playstyle being true ironman (never resetting to restart a chapter, and the run being completely over when you have a game over).

Every single unit is a generic, complete with covered eyes and identical mugs, and even no real names! They are all just as strong as the enemies, and nothing more, so using them may be a bit more difficult than the usual FE unit fare.

You can download the Iron Emblem rom on this page and to play the game you need to download the Visualboy Advance Emulator here.

You need to download and install Visual Boy Advance and then load the rom.

Description

Iron Emblem is a hack that is designed with the only playstyle being true ironman (never resetting to restart a chapter, and the run being completely over when you have a game over). Every single unit is a generic, complete with covered eyes and identical mugs, and even no real names! They are all just as strong as the enemies, and nothing more, so using them may be a bit more difficult than the usual FE unit fare.

The gameplay and setup of the hack were very inspired by my experiences with fe1/11. The challenge, then, is making your way through all 21 chapters successfully while getting invested in this group of nobodies trying to make their way through a cruel and harsh world of bloodshed and war. I hope you enjoy!

Story

The story is a simple tale of a small group of soldiers from the southern country of Boreal winning minor victories in their war with Austral, and the events that transpire on their quest to help the war effort. Along the way, they grow in numbers, strength, and acclaim, eventually performing one last act of heroism.

Features

  • 20 chapters and 1 gaiden to play
  • 50 total units are obtainable throughout the game
  • Units send their items to the convoy upon death
  • All the usual Quality of Life improvements (Health Bars, Danger Radius, Growths Display, etc.)
  • A couple of new classes
  • Cool helmets for every playable AND boss! This counts, right?

Known Issues

  • Sometimes things in preps bug out, this is because of unit names being too long and is strictly visual. You shouldn’t get any gameplay issues from this.
  • Character endings are broken, will be fixed soon!

Changelog

V1.3.1.1

  • 24th Sqd 1 Str growth 35->30
  • Grunts 3 Str growth 45->40
  • Pro Crps 2 C->A swords, C->B lances
  • Pro Crps 5 D->C swords
  • Armor Squad buffed
  • Experience gain disabled after turn 15 on every map (subject to change, I can push it back a couple turns)
  • Commander’s promotion is now similar to FE1/Gaiden. He will be raised to certain stats if he is below them, but gain nothing if he is above them.

V1.3.1

  • Fixed heal animations (read: removed them completely)
  • Fixed defend bug where when the enemy escaped it wouldn’t trigger game over
  • Fixed bug where destroyed villages could still be visited
  • Narrow numbers have been implemented (thanks epicer), hopefully reduces the amount of menu glitching even if it’s not completely eliminated.
  • Lowered ballista pricing again, also made them more durable (+2 uses to arrowspate/stonehoist)
  • +1 turn to Ch13 timer
  • Very slight buff to a couple of endgame greens
  • Very slight buffs to ch7
  • Fixed those damn battle backgrounds, I think. I swear I had fixed them earlier, those things have been bugging me forever.
  • Slim Axe durability lowered from 30 to 25
  • Thief Def growth lowered from 30% to 20%, Thief HP growth raised from 60% to 65%, Thief Str growth increased from 25% to 30%. Reason is that this was a complete oversight, I never intended for them to have 30% def growth, but they’re also really bad, so hopefully the buffs compensate for that.
  • Assassins in endgame should work as intended (go for escape point but attack if blocked), this hasn’t been tested thoroughly so let me know if there’s odd behavior and I’ll see what I can do
  • Medic Crps palette has been fixed he is no longer Artur.

V1.3

  • BWL data is now correctly saved (and shown in the status screen)
  • Luck has been buffed to give 1 hit per point instead of 1/2 hit per point. This should help address lower hit rates in both modes (+3 hit to most units’ hit rates)
  • The price of ballistae has been made substantially cheaper
    Ch20 has received significant nerfs in the form of making the assassins much less dodgy and buffing the green unit allies, as well as preventing the assassins from stealing (hopefully)
  • The defend condition for Ch20 should work now
  • All the S rank weapons are sellable now
  • Several prepromotes throughout the game have received minor stat buffs
  • Staff Animations for healing staves have been removed
