Description

Pokemon Leaf Green Dootsouls’ Added Challenge edition answers the question: What if Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green had a challenge mode like Black 2 and White 2? Harder opponents, higher levels, but no Pokémon or move rebalancing, making the player work with what they can. This ROM hack was created as my own personal “vanilla challenge mode” for Gen 3’s Kanto experience.

Features

  • Fully customized boss fight teams.
  • Regular Pokémon trainers with more diverse teams.
  • A slightly higher level curve.
  • Obtainable cross-gen evolutions before the Sevii Islands.
  • A 100% obtainable Kanto Pokédex, Minus Mew.
  • Some Pokémon redistributions to remove version-exclusives, make one-time encounters obtainable in the wild, add more type variety early-game, and make baby Pokémon available. Many of these changes are inspired by Johto games and Let’s Go.
  • New Music! Battle! Vs. Team Rocket (from Pokémon Crystal Dust), Gen 2’s Pewter city theme for Sevii Islands 1-3 (from unused RSE data), and Route 38 for some Sevii routes (from unused RSE data).
  • Lower prices on game corner coins.
  • Added BW2 repel prompt.
  • Updated Pickup table.
  • New post-game superboss.

  • Bug fixes. I think some jank is in the spirit of the game!
  • Nuzlocke mode or other modes, though cheat codes should still work if you’re looking for rare candies.

  • Kadabra/Haunter: Lvl 40
  • Graveler/Machoke: Lvl 38
  • Umbreon: Moon Stone
  • Espeon: Sun Stone (Two obtainable through in-game trades)
  • Metal Coats are found on wild Magnemite
  • Dragon Scales are found on wild Horsea and Dratini
  • King’s Rocks are found on wild Slowpoke
  • The Up-Grade is obtained through in-game trade
  • It’s always a good idea to check out trades; you never know what items they hold!

Postgame Changes

  • Many trainers engage in double battles!
  • Pokémon League rematches are double battles.
  • All non-legendary Johto Pokémon are obtainable! (Breeding and evolutions required)
  • Much harder opponents.
