Pokemon Bullshit Blue is a hack of Pokémon Blue with one very simple twist: all healing opportunities have been removed. The free heals courtesy of the player’s mom, the Pokécenter nurses, the Pokémon Tower healing pad, and the Silph Co. bed are off-limits. All potions, ethers, elixers, status healing items, and revives have been made inaccessible. The vending machines on the Celadon Department Store roof are blocked off (the Saffron guards require a different bribe).
Overworld poison damage has not been removed, meaning you must strategize carefully against poison risks or face a death sentence. Aside from the single S.S. Anne Rest TM and the rare recovery or draining move, all damage dealt to your Pokémon is permanent. Can your team of brave soldiers survive this unforgiving gauntlet? For a better quality of life for the player, Max Repels and Rare Candies are sold in every mart for $1 apiece. Stat experience has been removed both as a way to add difficulty and to disincentivize grinding on wild Pokémon.
