Classic NES Series - Pac-Man ROM

classic nes series pac-man rom
When focusing on the main objectives, Pac-Man is about 44 Mins in length. If you're a gamer that strives to see all aspects of the game, you are likely to spend around 4 Hours to obtain 100% completion.

The original Japanese name was Puckman, which evolved from the Japanese word paku, meaning "chomp." Given the closeness to a certain explicit four-letter English word, a lot of arcade operators at the time were worried that vandals would alter the letter P. Eventually, "Pac" was suggested as an alternate name.

One of the most well-known accidental endings in gaming, Pac-Man descends into chaos after 256 levels, when an overflowing 8-bit level register causes half the screen to be filled with random symbols and become unbeatable

You need to download and install Visual Boy Advance and then load the rom.

Additional Information

Pac-Man, originally called Puck Man in Japan, is a 1980 maze action video game developed and released by Namco for arcades. In North America, the game was released by Midway Manufacturing as part of its licensing agreement with Namco America. The player controls Pac-Man, who must eat all the dots inside an enclosed maze while avoiding four colored ghosts. Eating large flashing dots called “Power Pellets” causes the ghosts to temporarily turn blue, allowing Pac-Man to eat them for bonus points.

Pac-Man was a widespread critical and commercial success, leading to several sequels, merchandise, and two television series, as well as a hit single by Buckner & Garcia. The character of Pac-Man is now the mascot and flagship icon of Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game remains one of the highest-grossing and best-selling games, generating more than $14 billion in revenue (as of 2016) and 43 million units in sales combined, and has an enduring commercial and cultural legacy, commonly listed as one of the greatest video games of all time. The gameplay of Pac-Man is simple and dynamic; The player controls Pac-Man in four directions only with the D-Pad; and the only other button funcional it’s the START, for pausing the game.

The game starts with three lives, and the objective is to collect (eat) all the Pac-Dots of the screen, avoiding the ghosts (or monsters, as called in some translations) that has its unique characteristics of chasing. If Pac-Man touches the ghosts a life is lost. The challenge takes place in a blue maze of black background, the layout doesn’t change after every stage completed, but the action turns more frantic and enemies become more hostile. Occasionally fruits will appear, if collected will conceive the player different amounts of points; And an extra life can be achieved at each 10,000 points.
