Defender is a GameBoy Advance game released on November 07 2002 and was developed by Outlook Entertainment. The Story of Defender GBA is mainly focused on the arrival of the second Manti Swarm, as well as the invasion of Earth. And the founding of Cydonia Base Mars. The player flies as an unidentified member of the GSA.

Attempting to help the GSA evacuate mankind from Earth and move them to other parts of them galaxy. The player’s ultimate goal is to keep mankind safe as they prepare to attack the next swarm. The gameplay is very much a “suped-up” version of the original Defender and it’s sequel. The player moves back and forth in a side-scrolling point of view.

The Manti is the same as the 2002 title, making it appear more related to the series. The game is mostly the generic “defend the colonists” gameplay but, they’re are other objectives, like destroying every enemy or finding a certain object. The thing that really makes it closer to the updated title is the fact that your now capable of wielding different weapons.
