Description

Fire Emblem The Last Promise is a Game Mod of Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade created by Blazer. Initially conceived as a forum hack titled Tactics Universe using fans’ OCs set on the continent of Elibe several years prior to the game it’s a mod of, Blazer later took control of the project and reworked it into the hack it is today, with it being considered fully completed in 2013.

The hack is set on the continent of Solum, and centers around a Ragtag Bunch of Misfits rebelling against the empire of Magnus. Though the game initially focuses on the father and son duo of Siegfried and Shon, the game shifts focus partway through to the motivational speaker Anakin and Kelik, leader of the Legend Mercenaries. The four ultimately team up along with their allies to take down the empire and free the people of Solum from their tyranny.

It’s overall a simple plot, though its status as one of the first completed Fire Emblem ROM hacks helps it to stand out. It even includes a post-game mode, titled The Constellation, at a time where the only Fire Emblem game with any post-game content at all was Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. Though many ROM hacks have come out and been completed since, few have the reputation and polish that this one is known for.

Story

A millennium ago, on the continent of Blaine, humans and dragons fought. Humans, unable to match the power of the dragons, gathered together and saved themselves from the brink of extinction by relocating to Solum. On this new continent, the people were divided, and over time, each territory formed its own way of life, choosing how its people would live and what ideals they would carry.

However, this all changes when Magnus, an empire with the greatest military on the continent, begins to invade the other territories. Though their campaign is time-consuming, they are successful in every way imaginable, quickly dominating Alicia to the north and Atheya to the east. But across the continent, there are people ready to fight back to their dying breath.

One of them is Siegfried, a former Knight Commander who has been in hiding ever since an injury he received ten years ago. With his pain serving as a reminder of the vow he made that fated day, he and his son, Shon, take up arms to gather allies and do whatever it takes to stop Magnus from dominating the continent. Because some promises are just worth dying for.

Changelog

V2.1

  • After a long wait, I’ve fixed most of the issues with v2 beta 1.
  • Some of the issues have yet to be fixed; please see the documentation for more info.
  • A couple small additions were made as well as plenty of adjustments, though most of the changes are still fixes.
  • I’m a little hesitant about making this an official release, but ultimately I don’t have too much time to invest in this so I’m going to go ahead and do it–I’m putting a little faith in not only myself, but the ability of the many betatesters who helped during the open beta.

V2.0

  • Many fixes. Constellation is included and includes everything but one final part.
  • Supports are also fully implemented, as well as an epilogue and character endings. Note that I may update these at my own leisure at any time, but for now, they’re complete.

V1.3

  • Some more fixes and balancing issues. As usual, I wouldn’t release a patch if it weren’t worth updating your game for, so I do hope you follow through and update your game.
