How to Use Mega Evolution in Moemon Star Emerald

  • Make sure you have a Mega Bracelet in your inventory.
  • Equip your Moémon with the correct Mega Stone.
  • During battle, select Attack, then press Start (or whatever key you’ve assigned).
  • Use a move, and your Moémon will Mega Evolve.

Mega Stones are scattered across the region, appearing as sparkling spots, or they can be obtained as gifts. You can start using Mega Evolution after getting the Mega Bracelet from Steven on Route 118.

Known Bugs

  • Battle Frontier/Battle Tents: NEVER reset while participating in these. Please back up your save before entering, as they may corrupt your PokéDex data or bag.
  • Time-Based Events: Events follow your device’s clock instead of your in-game clock.
  • EV Gain: Pokémon at level 100 cannot gain EVs from training, but Vitamins (uncapped) still work.
  • Pokédex Issues: The Search by Name function is broken, and the Pokédex order listings are incorrectly sorted.
  • Toxic Spikes Bug: They aren’t cleared by Poison or Steel-types as intended.
  • Black Sludge: It doesn’t heal Poison-types, and thus is unavailable.
  • Move Category Display: Sometimes new moves are shown with the wrong category (often Physical).
  • Breeding Bug: Breeding single-stage Pokémon with Megas may crash the game.
  • Double Battle Sound Bug: Wild double battles may cause the sound to get stuck.
  • Item Sprite Glitch: Sometimes an item’s sprite remains stuck on the map after pickup.
  • Mega Evolution Bug: Megas can revert if you switch out to heal them and that Pokémon faints.
  • Corrupted Encounters: If a Pokémon with Static is at the front while Surfing, corrupted encounters can occur.
