Description

Pokemon Lucid is a difficulty hack of Emerald, built using the Emerald expansion engine to bring all Pokémon into Gen 3. The game features Pokémon up to Generation 9, tough opponents, enhanced AI, and a variety of modern mechanics and quality-of-life improvements for a fresh gameplay experience.

Quality Of Life Changes

Since the primary focus of this hack are trainer battles, a lot of qol changes were made to remove distractions and streamline the gameplay.

  • Level Cap candy (levels up to the level cap)

  • Instant Egg Hatching
  • Infinite money
  • Running shoes can be toggled to be permanent
  • No grinding, levels are increased with the Level Cap Key Item

Game Modes

The project has 2 modes, a Normal Mode and a Casual Mode. Both modes have the same trainer battles, but in Casual Mode you can build your own adventure. What is meant by your own adventure? In a new game, if the option Casual Mode is chosen, access to a newly added house south of Littleroot Town will be granted. This place has a lot of settings to customize the game. That includes choosing a gimmick (Mega, Tera outside the Tera Islands, or Z-Moves) and access to a lot of powerful items. Basically, Casual Mode provides the player with many more tools to play the game.

Randomizer Options

  • Scaled Randomizer: The quality of encounters scales with progress made
  • Normal Randomizer: Regular randomizer where anything can be encountered

Known Issues

  • Battle Engine
    • If both attacker and target have Eject Pack and Eject Button
      • In Lucid the activation is based on speed
      • In vanilla Eject Button always activates before Eject Pack
    • Mirror Coat and Counter don’t work in double battles (inconsistent)
  • Battle AI
    • Hone Claws is a fake move. The ai never considers it.
  • Trainer Mon Ursaluna from Santiago has Bulletproof instead of Guts

    • Fixes Wandering Spirit activation preventing Eject Button if the copied ability was triggered
    • Fixes Echoed Voice damage calc during switch in (If a move other then EV was used more then once in a row, EV was seen as boosted dmg during switch in)

    • Fixes timing issue with Eject Pack and Intimidate. Eject Pack is supposed to trigger after all abilities activated. Then the fastest Eject Pack activates

Fixes

  • Freeze in 2v1 battles when right side trainer had no mons to switch in, while left side trainer was about to switch in a new mon
  • Spread move bug in doubles when right slot mon was supposed to defrost. E.g Heat Wave hit could only defrost the right side slot (player POV)
  • Life Orb damage reduction when mon couldn’t move due to flinching
  • Choice Lock timing when mon was unable to use a move (e.g. due to Fake Out)
  • Wandering Spirit copied ability activating on fainted mon (e.g. copied Intimidate activated on fainted mon)
  • Wrongly applied calculation order (stat stages should always apply first)
  • Choloroblast taking damage when the move failed. Chloroblast previously used the Steel Beam effect but the moves are slighlty different
  • Mortal Spin trying to poison a mon that has a status already
  • Mold Breaker AI calc damage inaccuracy. E.g. Mold Breaker into Fluffy would see damage as if the mon wouldn’t be able to hit through.
  • Figy Berry battler corruption when the pokemon was confused (the item was removed for wrong pokemon if the pokemon was confused by the berry)
