Pokemon Crystal Clear ROM

Pokemon Crystal Clear rom
When focusing on the main objectives, Pokemon Crystal Clear is about 25 Hours in length. If you're a gamer that strives to see all aspects of the game, you are likely to spend around 40 Hours to obtain 100% completion.

To obtain HM02 Fly in Pokemon Crystal Clear you will need 3 or more badges. Head to Route 16, immediately west of Celadon City. Head into the house located in the corner and speak to the guy inside to receive HM02 Fly.

First you have to complete both Suicine and Mewtwo's events. Mew will be located in the room next to where Mewtwo's event took place. After interacting with it Mew will roam Kanto. Now you just have to get lucky and encounter Mew in the wil.

Changelog

V2.6.0

Reworked TM Shop

CC’s TM shop has basically been the same since the first release of the game. It functioned based on how many badges you obtained, with all four sets of TMs eventually unlocked after obtaining the first eight badges. While this was a little clunky, it was functional enough for the earlier versions of the game and better than the original approach.

However, as CC developed over the years, more TMs could be found in the overworld, and new ways to play the game emerged. These changes began to highlight a core issue with the TM system as a whole: if you obtained a TM elsewhere in the world, you couldn’t then immediately go buy another copy of it; you’d still need to obtain the correct amount of badges.

This has now been addressed. Individual TMs in the TM shop are now also unlocked when you obtain them in any way in the overworld, and eventually all of them will unlock as you obtain badges, just like the original set system. There is also a new interface, so you don’t need to remember which TM is in which set.

Additionally, Thief is now available as part of the initially unlocked TMs.

New Music

  • Two tracks have been replaced with new variants from CosmicAngel; the Ho-Oh battle theme, and the X/Y Gym Leader theme.
  • Battle vs. Ho-Oh
  • X/Y Gym Leader Theme
  • Additionally, there was enough space leftover to include a new option for wild battle music:
  • Area Zero Battle
  • I hope you all enjoy these tracks as much as I do.

Tweaks

  • In Nuzlocke mode, with Disable Held Items active, trade evos will no longer require held items when traded to evolve.

  • A small note was added on the wall in Honeybun’s house.

Fixes

I didn’t quite get to some of the emulator-specific SGB Border issues in time; you can always open the start menu and press SELECT to refresh it if you happen to run into any of these.

  • When doing New Game+, the special Traded Nickname Palette will be preserved.
  • The Legality Fixer will no longer try to check a Smeargle’s moveset.
  • Minor text fix for Oak’s Lab.
  • Minor text fix for a specific follower interaction.
  • Fixed the Underground Arena incorrectly restoring items in Nuzlocke mode when a party member is lost.
  • Fixed footprints on Route 43 being too close to the map connection.
  • Fixed the Goldenrod Cafe meal cutscene with the follower causing NPCs to appear on top of the textbox.
  • Fixed followers digging back to Azalea Town from Ilex Forest walking into the trees.

V2.5.11

Preface

Nothing has changed about anything I wrote in the 2.5.9 changelog preface. If you haven’t read that, I suggest you do.

I’ve basically spent the entirety of this year working on other things, while slowly collecting any bugs found in CC. I’ve fixed each one that’s come up, and I added a little something extra just for fun.

Professor Oak’s Challenge:

One of the things people have told me they like about CC is how friendly the game is for challenge runs. Among the different variations lies “Professor Oak’s Challenge” – the act of filling out the Dex as much as possible before each gym. Considering that the entire Dex can be completed before challenging a single gym, I thought it would be fun to add a little something for completing that.

  • Speaking to Prof. Oak with a completed Dex and zero badges on a non-New Game+ file will allow you to challenge him at his full strength. If defeated, he will pass on his special technique. This will carry over into New Game+.

Misc changes/QoL:

A handful of Gen 1 TM moves that were incorrectly assigned to certain species have been moved to the Battle Tutor. Additionally, Politoed can now obtain Body Slam, and Hitmonchan can now obtain Mega Punch through the Kanto TM tutor. Ultimately there are no moveset changes, just minor shifts in which tutor they belong to.

  • Gym Rechallenges now have an animation for healing the party. Occasionally people would get confused about this.
  • Added a print intensity NPC in the Ruins of Alph Research Center

Fixes

  • Restored the stock delay to the SGB border implementation. Modern emulators now require it.
  • Fixed evolution stones and Tradeback Guy not allowing evolution if a party member is at the exact level cap in Nuzlocke Mode.
  • Hatching eggs in the Bike Shop, Modification Station, and Underground will correctly set caught location.
  • A Mewtwo hatched from Origin Plains will properly display “Hatched” on the stats screen.
  • Fixed Perish Song always failing in wild battles.
  • Fixed link battle screen displaying incorrect graphics instead of “VS”.
  • Adjusted footprints on Route 1.
  • Fixed Battle Tutor teaching HM moves without HMs.
  • Fixed Genetic Fabricator not registering the species as caught.
  • Fixed shiny animation on the Dex’s register screen being 8px too high.
  • Fixed Noak having two Murkrows.
  • Fixed incorrect nicknames for Cat and Grizz.
  • Fixed a typo in Sprout Tower 3F.

V2.5.10

Preface

Nothing has changed about anything I wrote in the 2.5.9 changelog preface. If you haven’t read that, I suggest you do. That said, there was a very strange bug found exclusively when using hardware that could randomly crash when opening the start menu, and that is obviously unacceptable. The other bugs were extremely minor and could’ve been left unpatched, but hey – if I’m already here…might as well.

Quality of Life

Between shinies and powerful auras, there’s no shortage of unique battle start messages. That said, as I’ve watched people play the game, there’s one combination of DVs that always gets fanfare when it happens to come up. As a direct result, I’ve chosen to highlight it in game as well.

  • A quick animation and message will play when finding a species with all zero DVs. Soft resetting will also be locked until the battle starts, like shinies are.

Fixes

  • Fixed start menu crashing under odd hardware circumstances when playing on certain hardware
  • Fixed Daycare menu account not printing correctly during the Bug Catching Contest
  • Kenya’s reset status will now be properly displayed by the Dex
  • Fixed Morty’s Set 11 introduction text being incorrect
  • Fixed a minor issue with some of Fibbef’s text
  • Pigy oinking outside of the box should be fixed, but it’s up to him.
