When focusing on the main objectives, Pokemon Dark Cry is about 10 Hours in length. If you're a gamer that strives to see all aspects of the game, you are likely to spend around 30 Hours to obtain 100% completion.
 

Pokemon Dark Cry is a hacked version of Pokemon FireRed version, it mainly features Sinnoh Pokemon and is set in a new region called Trion and features several Fakemon. It is well known to be one of the most successful hacks based on original Pokemon games.

Team Rocket is heavily featured in Dark Cry version as one of the series most notable antagonists. In addition to that, the use of some profanity is notable. Pokemon movesets for this version are copied from the original movesets of the game it's based on.

Go to the Pokemon fan club in Vermilion City. Talk to the man sitting in the centre of the room. He will give you the bike voucher. Go back to Cerulean city and enter the Bike shop. It is the only other large building other than the gym. Talk to the man behind the counter and he will give you a bike.

Chatot's catch rate is fairly low so just get it to a low HP, use a status effect like sleep or paralyze or use Ultra Balls to increase your chance to catch it.

You need to download and install Visual Boy Advance and then load the rom.

Description

When you awoke, you realized you were in a cave, and everything was black and white. You noticed two people standing near a dark altar, discussing a “Shadow Plate.” You reached for your Pokemon, but they were nowhere to be found. Then you noticed a man wearing a shirt with an “R” on it. You attempted to stop him, but he simply walked right past you.

The man performs a strange ritual, and then there is a massive earthquake and a massive shadow approaches you. You wake up and realize it was all a dream. You get out of bed, look at the clock, and realize you’re late for picking up your first Pokemon. Later you realize that your dream is coming true!

  • A few more glitches were found and fixed. Including some movement errors, some tile errors, and the button checking thing of a sidequest on Route 602.
  • More hints were added for the puzzles of Willsum City gym. Now it should be easier to figure out what to do.
  • What’s more, the levels of Gym Leaders are changed.
  • Now the first gym leader’s team is 2 levels higher than you, the second gym leader’s team is 3 levels higher, the gym leaders of Gravidant City, Shinou City and Granite City are 4 levels higher, the rest gym leaders remain 5 levels higher. Which should make the level curve feel smoother. I didn’t want to do this because it changes what the creator did but still, this seems to be what needs to be done since many people mentioned this.

  • After having a few branch storylines related events tested again, I found there was one more event which started the branching too early, so I fixed that.
  • Added one new simple sidequest in Xenolight City and one NPC, which gives hints about how to find the Ukulele Pichu if you didn’t choose it as your starter. (It was already available before; this NPC only gives more information.)

  • Some choice-based event branches checks stuff too early, they were all fixed now.
  • The day-night system was adjusted a little bit, now the day time lasts until 6:00 PM.
