Description

This game’s purpose is to recreate the Hoenn region from the Pokémon Emerald version but lets the player decide where to go right from the start, making the Hoenn region seem vaster than it usually does right from the start.

Features

  • Story events removed. This means that Team Aqua and Magma are no more and there’s no interaction with May or Wally (there’s some interaction with May at the beginning, via pokénav, and at the end after beating the champion). The only interactions with Steven and Wallace are just before fighting them.
  • Every single city or town except for Pacifidlog can be accessed as soon as you obtain your starter, and it is possible to get to them without having a single encounter.
  • Most trainers won’t start a battle against you, instead, you’ll be the one to speak to them to start the battle.
  • HMs obtained upon obtaining the badge that allow their use.
  •  TM47 (Steel Wing), TM46 (Thief), and TM24 (Thunderbolt) are obtained similar to how they were obtained in the vanilla game, but without their corresponding events.
  • Obtain 50 pokéballs, 20 fluffy tails, exp share, pokédex, and pokénav as soon as you get your starter pokémon.
  • Wild encounters modified. All maps have low level and high level encounters (which is why the game gives the player 20 fluffy tails), the tendency is that the further you move from a town, the tougher the pokémon and the trainers get. Every single Hoenn pokédex pokémon can be found in the wild except for legendary pokémon and mythical pokémon.
  • Special 1% wild encounters in many places.
  • Trainer battles modified to fit the new level distribution of wild pokémon.
  • Pokémarts modified so they all sell similar things.
  • Gym Leader’s teams are determined on the number of badges you have before fighting them. The levels of the pokémon are unmodified (for example, in the vanilla version Roxanne’s team is two level 12 Geodudes and one level 15 Nosepass, this means that all Gym Leaders’ teams have pokémon on those levels if you have no badges, for example, Brawly will have a level 12 Machop, a level 12 Meditite and a level 15 Makuhita). This means that if you fight the Gym Leaders in the order that you do in vanilla Emerald, they’ll use exactly the same teams that they used to use.
  • Tate and Liza are an exception to what’s said above, as they will always have an even number of pokémon, where two of them have the second highest level and the other two have the highest level (in the previous example, their team would be two level 15 pokémon). From my testing, I can tell that, in my opinion, they tend to be the toughest Gym Leader.
  • Mr. Briney’s ship is available from the start. It will stop being accessible after beating Norman however, which will prevent you from traveling to Dewford Town without Surf.
  • Some Surf routes have bridges going across them so you can travel without depending on said HM.
  • Alternate ways to go to Mossdeep and Sootopolis.
  • Gym trainers removed. This has to do with the Gym Leaders’ teams changing depending on your amount of badges, I could do the same with all the trainers in each Gym, but it would’ve taken a long time.
  • Master Ball is unobtainable.
  • Battle Frontier is accessible from the start.
