Pokemon Emerald Revisited ROM

Pokemon Emerald Revisited rom
When focusing on the main objectives, Pokemon Emerald Revisited is about 25 Hours in length. If you're a gamer that strives to see all aspects of the game, you are likely to spend around 45 Hours to obtain 100% completion.

Pokemon Emerald Revisited is a Pokemon GBA Rom Hack by TheTonzMachine based on Pokemon Emerald in English. Pokemon Emerald Revisited but with a little more refinement and less frustration.

So in keeping with that theme, I've tried to keep things very faithful to the GBA era. Sometimes I like returning to a time before we had 1000+ Pokemon and every modern change.

Description

Pokemon Emerald Revisited was intended to recreate a version of Emerald I would have liked to play as a kid. Emerald, but with a little more refinement and less frustration. So in keeping with that theme, I’ve tried to keep things very faithful to the GBA era. Sometimes I like returning to a time before we had 1000+ Pokemon and every modern change. Also, being the first project, I wanted to keep things to a scope that I could actually deliver.

Features

  • All 386 Pokemon from the first three generations are obtainable in-game in a single playthrough. This, of course, includes all legends and mythical events. Pokemon that evolve via trade have been given an additional (easier) way to evolve, for example, the linking cord for Haunter, Machoke, etc.
  • Shiny odds updated to modern base odds (1/4096)
  • DexNav
  • Pokedex Plus
  • Stat Editor
  • All Pokemon have been given their hidden abilities and second abilities (that they may not have had in Gen 3). To allow for this a number of more modern abilities have been implemented.
  • Reusable TMs
  • Use HM moves if Pokemon can learn the HM, they don’t need to actually know it!
  • Nature mints
  • Sped up the battle intro and improved the pace of battles
  • A “deluxe” Safari Zone mode where pokemon don’t flee
  • A building in the Battle Frontier where you can try all 50 Battle CDs from Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness. If you have never tried, look them up, but try not to spoil it. Some of them are very fun puzzles to try and figure out!

The following changes are included but are optional. They can be turned on or off ANYTIME from the options menu.

  • Fairy Type
  • Physical/Special Split
  • Fix Emerald’s broken RNG (seed RNG with RTC instead of starting at 0 each reset)

Changelog

V1.0

  • Added a new postgame area called the Trainer Resort. Full details in the documentation, but here are some highlights
  • This new area contains all the Alolan forms!
    • Alolan Pokemon have their Gen 7 levelup learnsets, with moves implemented if they didn’t already exist in Gen 3

    • Also implemented more abilities to accommodate the Alolan forms, like Galvanize, and Snow Warning

  • A handful of strong trainers that are able to be rematched by resting at your resort hotel room

    • These trainers have high level teams with max IVs and use Emeralds “smart” AI

  • Special shops

  • Fishing minigame

    • Catch magikarp in a pond and an NPC will check its size. You get a prize each time you break the record

    • Also if you’re bored, keep fishing and try to find the level 99 shiny Magikarp that the pond has!

  • Expanded movesets to include almost all legal moves a Pokemon could learn in Gen 3, aside from some event moves. Added new tutors to make these moves easily learnable.
  • Updated movesets to include any level up moves that were previously exclusive to FRLG. For example Nidoking can now learn Megahorn at level 43. Previously this was only possible in FRLG.
  • Added special moves that shadow Pokémon learned in Pokemon XD. For example Lapras with Heal Bell. These moves were added as level 1 moves so they can be obtained via the move relearner.
  • Added move tutor for Nightmare, Sky Attack and Selfdestruct. These move tutors were originally exclusive to Pokémon XD
  • Added additional moves to Mew’s level 1 moves. These moves were originally obtainable via tutor in Pokemon XD: Faint Attack, Fake Out, Hypnosis, Night Shade, Role Play, Zap Cannon
  • Added a tutor for the “ultimate” moves that Kanto starters could learn in FRLG: Blast Burn, Hydro Cannon, and Frenzy Plant. Any of the final stage starters can learn the move for their type. Consistent with newer games.
  • Added a move tutor that will teach the tutor moves that were originally only 1 time use in Emerald. Example: DoubleEdge. Teach them as many times as you want now! This will cost 1 BP, but you can still learn each move for free once from their normal tutor.
  • The move relearner now allows for relearning of egg moves, no breeding necessary to craft your desired movesets
  • Added an easter egg where a pokemon staying at the daycare has a 5% to contract Pokerus.
  • Fixed various bugs

V0.3

  • Updated movesets to allow for more legal Gen 3 movesets and fixed bugs.

V0.2

  • Small bugfixes
  • Added an easter egg to the Pokemon daycare
