Pokemon Firered Kiara Challenge ROM

I made a challenge rom for my stepdaughter so she had something to do in the back of our car when we left for our road trip. So I present to you: FireRed Kiara Challenge. It has been designed to be a more challenging version of FireRed with some extras. After defeating the first gym, the world opens up a lot more, but the game is a lot harder than the regular version.

Pokecenters will not heal your pokemon out of the box, and when you lose a battle, one of your Pokemon dies. The gym leaders have been made more difficult. Poké Balls are much more expensive, while money is more scarce than ever. The story of the rom remains largely intact, as this project intends to give players a more intense, challenging version of pokemon FireRed with a little extra spice.

Features

• Always start with a shiny Pokemon.
• The looks of some shiny Pokemon have been altered to make their evolution looks make more sense.
• Moves have been updated to physical and ranged, like in newer games.
• All starters have an added Hidden Power attack
• Revive and Full Revive are not available, so it’s almost impossible to revive a fallen Pokemon.
• Trainer rewards are reduced for mid and late game
• It’s only possible to access the pc a few times during the story
• HM’s do not have a badge requirement, enabling the player to do Gyms 2-7 in any desirable order.
• LeafGreen Pokemon are catchable
• Evolutions that would require trading are available at level up
• Espeon and Umbreon can evolve using a Moon Stone or Sun Stone
• Balls are slightly more likely to catch a pokemon (catch rate of Great and Ultra Balls is doubled to keep players from needing to reload saves all the time)
• Balls are a lot more expensive
• Pokecentres do not heal your pokemon.
• When your entire team dies, you can select a pokemon that actually dies, and the rest of your team will be healed.
• Ethers are available at some stores.
• Item prices have been adjusted.
• EV improving items are a lot cheaper.
• Rival looks different now.
• Added some flavour to dialogue.
• The mall in Celadon has better items on sale.
• Small changes to world item drops.
• Pokemon that were nerfed due to the special split partially get their stats back.
• Gym leaders heal your pokemon when you are victorious.
• Gym leaders are more difficult.
• Better stats screen.
• Some extra quests.
• Sequence-breaking possibilities.
• Small additions to the world map.
• Appa from Avatar will make a cameo as Snorlax that can learn Fly as well.
