Description

Pokémon FireRed: Nintendask Edition is a unique ROM hack created by whatzit66 for a Nintendo-themed Tumblr ask community. This project involved over 50 artists contributing custom Pokémon designs, resulting in a fresh and engaging game experience.

The aim of the hack was to offer a fun and interactive way for community members to see their Pokémon creations integrated into a playable game. As a result, the hack replaces the original 150 Pokémon in FireRed with more than 240 custom Pokémon, each designed by various artists from the community.

If you’re looking for a new adventure in Pokémon FireRed with a completely new roster of Pokémon to catch and train, Pokémon FireRed: Nintendask Edition offers a vibrant and original experience that might be just what you’re looking for.

Features

  • More than 240 custom Pokemon replacing the original 150 in the game. As there were so many different artists for the project, and the whole thing was for fun, the quality of the Pokemon designs varies drastically.
  • Updated typing including Fairies
  • Physical/Special Split
  • Boatloads of Gen 4-6 moves and abilities
  • Plot and dialogue are mostly unchanged except for decapitalization and a few other minor things. Pokemon menu icons range from being custom-made for a Pokemon to one of several generic icons that were used for multiple Pokemon. So if multiple Pokemon have the same menu icon, that’s why.

Known Bugs

  • Post-Game plot can be accessed before beating the Elite 4. (Though I think of it more as a feature than a bug.)
Teachy TV doesn’t work right and can crash your game. Don’t open it.
  • Egg has the wrong Palette in hatching scene.
  • Pokemon sprites in ending have the wrong palette/sprites.
  • Some Pokemon images are improperly positioned in the dex.
  • Flying animation is bugged.
  • Flash doesn’t appear on the menu when you try to get a Pokemon to use it. There’s just a blank space. It still works though.
  • Some dialogue is not properly decapitalized.
