Description

Mostly unchanged Kanto and Sevii Islands with a few new additions and different Pokemon. A world of the only 5th and 6th generation Pokemon, the only exception being Eevee. The 5th generation Pokemon are all in Kanto while the 6th generation Pokemon are all in the Sevii Islands. I thought it would make for an interesting experience playing through Kanto with Unova Pokemon. Interesting really is the best word for this idea by itself, so along with these changes, if the idea itself sounds monotonous, you can be entertained by the many additions to the regions in this hack.

Such includes battle facilities (i.e. battle factory equivalent) and small mini-games that net you rare items. Finally, and I would say one of its most salient points, the Pokemon in this hack have far more options available to them in aim to make previously mediocre Pokemon more viable to use–no nerfs whatsoever sans arguably Archeops (no Defeatist (not fun to have), but weaker offensive stats).

Features

  • A world of only 5th and 6th generation Pokemon, the only exception being Eevee. The 5th generation Pokemon are all in Kanto while the 6th generation Pokemon are all in the Sevii islands.
  • Many, many move tutor moves. There are probably more move tutor moves than TMs in this hack. They’re intended to open up more strategies.
  • Difficulty rating system. What it does is rate your difficulty according to the settings you have picked. The settings you can toggle are: bosses with EVs and boss strategy levels. For now, it only encompasses bosses, but it is intended to be more expansive in the future.
  • Physical/special split
  • new generation moves, abilities, and battle items.
  • Sevii Islands! This time, you could visit them after defeating Lt. Surge! They contain the 6th generation Pokémon.
  • Battle facilities! I’ll just say this: talk to the guy with black and white hair in Celadon Mansion. The other battle facilitity you’ll find by unlocking Seven Island.
  • Mini-games. Go to the Two Island Game Corner to play them. Later on, you’ll be able to use them to EV train quickly.
  • Working VS Seeker. This time, it charges instantly, so no need to take 100 steps for each battle.
  • Most alternate forms are in, not all.
  • All Pokémon with 600 BSTs can be used in the battle facilities. This means that Genesect, Meloetta, Keldeo, and Victini are allowed, all of which are banned in the main games.
  • Secret Power has been changed to deal special damage rather than physical.
  • A second stone merchant can be found in front of the gym in Saffron City. He sells the remaining evolutionary stones, plus the Trade Stone for Pokémon that normally evolve by trade.
  • An elderly woman in Route 23’s trainer house will give you the Reveal Glass if you have Tornadus, Thundurus, or Landorus in your team.
  • TALK TO THE GUY WITH BLACK AND WHITE HAIR IN CELADON MANSION.

Known Bugs

  • Some other event seems to mess with the difficulty settings. It’s currently unknown which event does this. Omega mode gym leaders have an “X” appended to their names, beta for normal mode.
  • Volt Switch still switches Pokemon even when used against Ground types. Volt Switch can softlock the game if used on a Pokemon maxed out on Lightningrod.
  • Saving and reloading in Altering Cave puzzle might have you end up in Pallet Town.
  • I have not changed the habitats of the Pokémon.
  • The Pokémon in the slot machines have not been changed.
  • Aerodactyl and Kabutops are still displayed in the Pewter Museum.
  • Choice Scarf may not be working as desired. More details on this would be greatly appreciated.
  • Some Pokemon do not have cries. When I say some, I mean a tiny amount, not more than half. List: Pyroar (female), Helioptile.
  • Something in the game might be changing the difficulty settings. I suspect it is the Hall of Fame special or the credits. More details on this would be greatly appreciated.
  • A weird red exclamation mark appears above the player after using the VS Seeker. Nothing fatal, just not like the original.
  • Some abilities, moves, and items don’t work as they should completely (i.e. Defiant, Competitive, Sturdy), but for the most part, they have their essences.
  • If a Pokemon cannot learn a move they normally can, report it. Also, if a Pokemon can learn a move that absolutely makes no sense, report it too. Oversights can happen, you know, especially since it is only me off of my spare time working on this project.
  • Assurance can hit a Pokemon using Dig or Fly. I haven’t bothered to investigate this yet, but it is a thing.
  • Berry Juicer multichoice has two options that do nothing. This is temporary for until I finish the items.
  • Some berries have the names of the damage reducing berries from the later generations. Right now, they do nothing.
  • Unavailable formes: Meloetta (pirouette), Keldeo (resolute), Kyurem (Black & White)
