Pokemon Rose Red is a unique FireRed ROM hack that turns schoolyard rumors and lost history into reality. Journey through a reimagined Kanto where the elusive “Mist Stone” unlocks the power of Pokegods, entities with strength rivaling Mewtwo. This hack brings back the “extinct” Gorochu as a Raichu evolution.
Implements the infamous “Buried Alive” creepypasta in Lavender Tower, and finally lets you find Mew under the truck! With the complete removal of Dark and Steel types to return to a more “pure” elemental state, and Water/Dragon typing for Gyarados, this is the Kanto adventure that every 90s kid dreamed of.

- The Mist Stone & Pokegods: Discover the elusive Mist Stone, primarily on the new Neon Island, to evolve Pokémon into “Pokegods”—entities with power that rivals or even surpasses Mewtwo.
- Gorochu Evolution: Raichu can now evolve into the long-lost, “extinct” species Gorochu by using a Fire Stone, featuring a custom high-quality sprite.
- Mew Under the Truck: The famous urban legend is finally real! You can find and battle Mew under the truck at the Vermilion Port, complete with its unique battle theme from Pokémon Emerald.
- Buried Alive Creepypasta: Face the terrifying “Buried Alive” living corpse and his White Hands at the apex of Lavender Tower. If you lose, experience the infamous “fresh meat” game-over sequence.
- Dark & Steel Type Removal: To return Kanto to its original elemental roots, the Dark and Steel types have been completely removed, with moves and Pokémon types reassigned accordingly.
- Water/Dragon Gyarados: Gyarados has been re-typed to Water/Dragon, finally granting it the typing many fans felt it always deserved.
- Pure Flying Spearow line: The Spearow and Fearow evolutionary lines have been changed from Normal/Flying to pure Flying type.
- Dragonite Island: Explore a brand-new, stormy land mass discovered near Route 19 which houses a massive population of Dratini, Dragonair, and Dragonite.
- Cerulean Lake & Manga Events: Visit the new Cerulean Lake on Route 24 to help Misty battle an enraged Gyarados, a sequence heavily inspired by the Pokémon Adventures manga.
- Johto Trainer Cameos: Battle against unique trainers not seen in the original Kanto journey, including characters from the Johto region and Generation 2 games.
- Trade-Free Evolutions: Silph Co. has developed new Pokéball models that automatically activate evolution genes, allowing Pokémon like Raichu (to Gorochu) and trade-evos to evolve without needing a link cable.
- Full Main Story Content: The current demo features the entire main Kanto storyline, allowing you to play from the start all the way through the Champion and the capture of Mew.
- Stats & Moveset Overhaul (Planned): While currently using mostly vanilla stats, the final version will feature a complete rebalancing of Pokémon movesets and base stats.
- Extensive Post-Game (Planned): The full release will feature a multitude of new journeys and regions to explore after becoming the Champion.
- Custom Grayscale Palettes: Features updated and grayscaled palettes to give Kanto a fresh visual aesthetic while maintaining GBA charm.
