Description

Have you ever wondered what the Hoenn gym leaders and elite four members would be like if you had to battle them in reverse order? Well, I decided to find that out by making a Rom Hack of Pokémon Sapphire, switching the position of the gym leaders, and crafting teams for them that relatively match up with the original gym leaders’ base teams.

Why not Emerald?

I understand the frustration that it’s not Emerald, but Steven being in Rustboro City makes SO much more sense than Wallace.

Features

  • Gym Leaders have been swapped with new teams balanced around the positions they have taken (ex: Brawly (now last in Elite 4) and Drake (now 2nd gym leader) have swapped)
  • New Gym Leaders have been given new TMs that correspond with their type (mostly)
  • Roxanne has been swapped with Steven in all of his cutscenes throughout the game
  • Rare Candies can be bought in all Poke Marts for 1 Pokedollar for easy leveling
  • Evolution Stones and original gym TMs have been added to the Lilycove Department Store
  • The Thunderbolt and Ice Beam TM locations have been swapped so Glacia gives the Ice Beam tm for the New Mauville Plot.
  • The first Wally fight has received a slight upgrade (for the vibes)

V1.5

  • Updated Elite Four member vs battle screens to accurately represent the new E4 members.
  • Changed various scripts to make more sense in the story (mom still referenced Norman being a gym leader, Roxanne spoke with “Steven:” at points, and some text spilled outside of the text box boundary).
  • Reminder that trade evos have been changed to be possible!

  • Tate & Liza are swapped by name (lol)
  • Gym Leaders now give out completely replaced TMs instead of swapping to another already existing TM (For example, Sidney now uses TM42 which now contains Crunch instead of Facade).
  • Shiny Odds have been reduced to 1/512!
  • Trade Evolutions have been changed! All match the changes in the “Change Impossible Evos” option in the Universal Randomizer (attached)
  • Overheat TM has swapped locations with Shadow Ball TM

  • Some signposts outside of gyms did not accurately say the correct gym leader (they have been corrected)
  • Flannery’s Blaziken now has Thunderpunch over Rock Tomb
  • Roxanne’s Armaldo now has Brick Break over Metal Claw
