There are 124 cards accessible in the game, although the source code contains data for 202 cards. The additional 78 cards are not obtainable in the game.
The central part of Dungeon Dice monsters is, obviously, the dice. Each player has 15 6-sided dice. There are 6 symbols on each die, called Crests. A player rolls 3 dice each turn, and from the Crests rolled, makes their move. Players alternate turns rolling dice until a player's Dungeon Master loses all its Heart Points.
What makes the game a true challenge is that a monster cannot move except along Dungeon Path, which is created when a monster is summoned. So, careful placement of pathway can mean an easy path behind opposing lines. But sloppy dimensioning could spell defeat for a player.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Dungeon Dice Monsters is a dice-driven tactics video game based on an original board game featured in the Yu-Gi-Oh! storyline. It was developed and published by Konami, and released on March 21, 2001, in Japan, February 12, 2003, in North America and July 11, 2003, in Europe for the Game Boy Advance. The gameplay revolves around battling opponents using magical dice placed on a board to create dungeons.
At the beginning of your turn, you throw 3 dice with different icons, each dice corresponding to a monster. If you get two stars with the same level, you can summon a monster, unfolding the dice to create a path on the playing field. The goal of this game is to hit your opponent three times. It contains both a single-player campaign mode in which the player battles the AI, as well as a head-to-head multiplayer mode. Most characters in the game are from the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga. A few original characters are added.
Since the English manga mostly used characters’ names from the Japanese version, while almost all other English media used the names from the English anime, the English version of this game is the only place where English “dub” names are used for many characters. Critics gave the game mixed reviews, praising the game’s strategy elements, while criticizing its lack of a story mode and difficult learning curve, made harder by the lack of a tutorial. A real world, table top equivalent of the game was also released.
