Description

Pokemon Rainbow is a decompilation project of Pokémon FireRed, massively expanded/modified to include more content while keeping compatibility with Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen, Colosseum, and XD: Gale of Darkness. Originally, this was just meant to be a solo project that mainly focused on fixing the issues with FireRed/LeafGreen’s music, but I somehow may have gotten a little… carried away in expanding to Johto.

But then, I didn’t stop there. I completed an entire region based on Guyana in South America while also expanding on the initial lore of this amazing, vast world of Pokémon being an alternate version of our real world. With plenty of content updates and regions to explore beyond Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn… You’ll never get bored, I hope!

Features

  • There are 16 regions, although most are placeholders for later after Unova, so 9 right now
  • New/Polished maps in Kanto, Johto, Hoenn… AND UNOVA has been started! There is a secret way to reach Unity Island (and Unity Tower) hidden somewhere in Johto, if you can find it!
  • A few Unova Pokemon Species have been added, specifically the Venipede line. More to follow in v70!
  • Some experiments with “GB Sounds” are being done, still unfinished, and repurposed the Music Player item! If you have them enabled, you can simply toggle it off for now, if you don’t like it.
  • PokeDex update! You can now toggle between Shiny Pokemon and regular pokemon with the Select button in the first screen menu of the Pokedex.
  • Scripts for signs have been added to Route 32, some NPC scripts, but not much else.
  • Of course, with this update, there is more music, too!
