Description

Fire Emblem – Illusory Dungeon is a Fire Emblem rogue-like game. In this hack, you’ll guide the main lord Meriette through the illusory dungeon, taking on 8 randomly selected chapters, recruiting from a random pool of units to take on the final boss at the end of the game. Right now, the game is only in its first real version, but I plan to continue working on it and eventually scale it into a proper game.

Fixes

  • Fixed a pretty big glitch with Act III unit recruiting being fucked up
  • Bow Knights now have Canto as they should
  • Support Menu functionality is gone but hopefully it isn’t broken?
  • Fixed some inconsistent boss music

Changes

  • Summoners are (temporarily) gone
    • Probably the hardest class to design around and bug fix, I’ve decided to just nix them for the time being until I can bring them back in the future, hopefully better than ever
  • Monster Movement is now consistent with similar classes
  • Doubled the number of moving tiles on the water map
    • A very dumb quick fix until I can find a more elegant solution
    • I want it to be random, but I need to find a way to weight it in a way that the map is consistently possible

Balances

  • Berserkers got some extra Strength
  • Unpromoted enemy units in Act III got a lot of juice, so the maps should be more appropriately tough

New Stuff

  • Priests now have a secret seal promotion
    • This just leaves unpromotable classes and troubadours (and shamans) without one so far
  • Difficult mode is now Difficulter!
    • Only changes made are to Act I, but maps are a little harder, and most have an extra feature to really set them apart from their normal mode counterparts

Fixes

  • Girl Thieves no longer get slayer
  • Arch Mogalls can continue to use their eyes and lost their dark magic
  • Arena should hopefully be less weird???

Changes

  • Merriette gives some warnings on certain maps, letting you plan better when blind
  • Duplicate maps are a thing of the past. Every chapter will now be a unique map

Balances

  • The monsters got some stat caps. Now they’re actually polished.
  • The Paladin Map. Yeah I know, it tended to be rough during my testing too.
    • It should be more clear that you have to use the bridge to cross
    • Enemies are slightly weaker
    • The paladin got his equipment nerfed

V1.2

Fixes

  • Act III recruited units are no longer severely overtuned on Difficult Mode
  • Fixed some very minor map appearance issues
  • Finally figured out how to make thieves carry loot again
  • If you roll a manakete on the first unit reward, it will no longer become a brigand
  • The arena is now a thing that exists

Changes

  • The Final Preparations map is now a lot clearer on its turn count
    • Going into the yellow healing house now longer ends the chapter early either
  • The brigands on the Act I triangular mtn map are now slightly weaker
  • Nomads can now use ballistae. This may change.

Balances

  • Nosferatu is the main reason shamans are OP, so it’s now slightly worse
  • I will likely do more later, but many promoted units now have lowered/adjusted stat caps
  • Valks and Paladins have had minor stat reductions, but this may change back later
  • Falcoknights got a bit more strength
  • Wyverns and Knights are now a bit stronger
  • Mages/Sages recieved a bonus point of Mag
  • Meriette got a little bit extra Str again

New Stuff

  • A new secret seal class: The Bow Knight
    • Locked to bows, but sporting high Str, Def, Crit, and a mount, this class has no problem taking down Wyvern Lords and even armor knights
  • If you’ve already played once, try again with a different starting set of units!
    • You can now select different starting unit presets after your first run
    • (There might even be some brand new classes included in there as well…)
